Recently, disturbing developments have been found in the Yasmin, Yaz and Ocella birth control pills that are distributed by Barr Laboratories, Inc.  Each of these pills contain drospirenone, which is a new progestin.  This chemical can cause severe and dangerous side-effects.

Drospirenone can cause serious health complications, including gallbladder disease and kidney stones. Moreover, it can cause the potassium level in the person’s blood stream to reach dangerous levels.  One function of potassium is to serve as a control in cardiac rhythm.  If there is an imbalance in the level of potassium, it can cause hyperkalemia and other disturbances of heart rhythms.  These disturbances can result in blood clots, heart attacks, strokes, deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.  In certain instances it can also lead to death.

Tragically, The FDA has received notice of 50 deaths from women taking Yasmin, Yaz or the generic form Ocella.

If you, a loved one or a friend are taking Yaz, Yasmin or Ocella, and feel that you have possibility suffered health effects because of it, you may be entitled to compensation.  Please contact the Oklahoma Yaz, Yasmin and Ocella lawyers at Carr and Carr Attorneys, with offices in Tulsa and Oklahoma City.
