Question: A couple of years ago, I was working as a contractor laying drywall. Now, I have developed a lung condition that my doctor has told me is probably from my drywall days from possibly something that was in the drywall. However, my wife looked up the statute of limitations for a products liability suit and I think it has passed already. Is there anything that I can do?
Response: Many states have what is called a “delayed discovery” rule. This means that the statute of limitations time does not start to run until you discover that a certain product made you ill. In your case the statute of limitations would start to run from the day that you started experiencing lung symptoms and attributed them to the drywall. You should contact a product liability attorney in your state immediately in order to make sure that you get the compensation that you deserve.
