My leg became permanently disabled from using a lawn mower trimmer. Does this product have any liability for my injury?

Question: I was mowing my lawn a few weeks ago and my leg got caught under the trimmer. Now, after weeks of being in the hospital, I am home but I can’t walk and the doctors say that my leg will never completely heal. I don’t have a lot of money. Is there anything I can do to make a case against the lawn mower manufacturer?

Response: Most cases that have to do with products liability are taken on a contingency basis. This means that you do not pay an attorney when you hire him to represent you. Rather, the attorney takes a portion of the settlement or award that you gain from the case after the case is over. If you do not win the case, the attorney receives nothing. If you do win the case, you receive a portion of the award and your attorney receives a portion that was agreed upon before he took the case.
