Product Liability Lawsuit

While manufacturers can clearly be liable, or responsible, for injuries caused by a defective product, there are other companies, persons, and/or entities that might be responsible, as well. A seller of a certain product can be liable for selling a defective product. Likewise, a wholesaler, liquidator, and/or distributor of a defective product can be liable if a consumer is injured by the product. Even if the product is manufactured outside of the United States, if it is sold in the United States, or even partially manufactured, shipped, and/or packaged in the United States, all parties involved with the manufacture, sale, and distribution of the product are potentially liable for any injuries that might occur to consumers as a result of a product's defects. Therefore, it is theoretically possible to file a product liability lawsuit even against a foreign manufacturer of a product, if that company has done business in the United States in some manner.
