Product liability claims are governed by strict timelines, or statutes of limitation, that are largely determined by state law. Therefore, depending on your state of residence, or where you suffered injury from using a particular product, the time period in which you have to file a claim for your injuries may vary widely. However, some state laws have a delayed time period in which to file a claim for compensation. In these states, the time period for filing a claim does not begin until you discover the injuries that you have suffered as a result of using the product.
