Effexor is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor ("SSRI"), or a drug that has the effect of increasing the level of serotonin in the brain, which affects one's mood. Recent lawsuits have targeted Effexor as the cause of suicides, attempted suicides, and other types of violent behavior.
