Depression Neurontin

Neurontin is a drug that was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as an anticonvulsant for the treatment of epileptic seizures, and also for chronic pain following a herpes skin rash outbreak. However, it is clear that Neurontin has been prescribed, and used for a variety of other medical conditions, including bipolar disorder, migraines, chronic pain, drug and alcohol withdrawal, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, restless leg syndrome, and attention deficit disorder. Lawsuits involving Neurontin claim that Pfizer, its manufacturer, has knowingly marketed the drug for these non-approved medical conditions, which has resulted in serious side effects for some consumers. Some such side effects include suicidal tendencies, depression, weight gain, abnormal thinking, nausea, paranoia, hostility, and memory loss, to name just a few. Specifically, many lawsuits involving Neurontin have stemmed from the suicide or attempted suicide of a loved one as a result of being prescribed Neurontin for a medical condition other than epileptic seizures.
