On the state level, you may check with the consumer protection division of your state attorney's general office, or similar state government agency. With respect to consumer product safety, you may want to contact the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, or the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, both of which will take a consumer protection complaint regarding a product over which their agency has jurisdiction. Likewise, in some cases, the Bureau of Consumer Protection of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission may be able to take your consumer complaint, and investigate accordingly. While none of these government agencies have the ability to get you compensation for any damages or injuries that you have suffered, you may be able to help other consumers avoid similar injuries by reporting your experience to these agencies.
