Beryllium

Beryllium is a steel metal that is found in the water, air, and soil. In most cases, people are exposed to low levels. However, if you work with beryllium without proper protection, you can develop Beryllium disease that is much like pneumonia. For those who have prolonged exposure to the metal, chronic beryllium disease may be part of their future. It can result in weakness, anorexia, fatigue, and weight loss. In severe cases, it can also affect the heart. Residential exposure to high levels may be due to improper industrial waste. If you are experiencing the symptoms of beryllium exposure, call your doctor. If you feel the level is higher than normal, it might be time to consult a lawyer.
