Benzene

Benzene is a chemical that is release into the air with car exhaust, the burning of coal, and tobacco smoke. It can also be found in furniture polish, glues, paints, and detergents. Forest fires and volcanoes also release Benzene in the air. Unfortunately, the chemical evaporates into the air quickly and is a known carcinogen. In other words, it is a known cancer-causing agent. Sadly, prolonged exposure to Benzene adversely affects blood. Therefore, you can develop leukemia. In addition, the chemical can negatively influence fertility in women. Therefore, it is extremely important to limit exposure. Do not smoke in the home or near children. If your work requires you to be around Benzene, make sure the area is properly ventilated and you use proper protective equipment.
